Undersea Systems Technician

Position Overview
The Engineering Technician role is essential for providing specialized engineering support. The successful candidate will engage in intricate and distinctive engineering tasks, primarily focused on the assembly and integration of both military and commercial systems, including the modification of military platforms.
Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician will undertake assignments related to undersea sensor systems that require a degree of adaptability and technical knowledge. Responsibilities include:
- Assembling or disassembling components and subunits of undersea sensors, as well as troubleshooting any malfunctions that may arise.
- Following detailed layouts, procedures, and scientific diagrams to construct, deconstruct, and package sensor components effectively.
- Conducting a variety of electrical and mechanical tests, which may involve minor adjustments to testing setups or procedures, and making subjective judgments in data measurement.
- Gathering and organizing engineering data from various sources, identifying any discrepancies, and selecting appropriate methods for data presentation.
- Assisting in design modifications by compiling relevant data regarding specifications and materials for undersea sensor equipment, while also analyzing past operational failures to inform future designs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least five years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience supporting similar projects or organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and external contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and sound judgment, with the capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be capable of lifting weights ranging from 15 to 25 pounds and must be able to stand or walk for extended periods. The role may also require occasional twisting, bending, and squatting.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be eligible to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, with preference given to those who already possess an active Secret clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance eligibility.
