Job Summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician VI to support the U.S. Navy in Crane, IN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing tasks independently and as part of a team, with detailed or general instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitting parts and cable assemblies according to written instructions
  • Integration of parts, cables, assemblies, and sensitive equipment
  • Collaboration with other project development and support facets, including leads, government customers, procurement, drafting support, engineering support, and inventory support
  • Programming of standard military radios
  • TACP system setup and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a related field and at least 6 years of experience; additional experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; not required to start
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical connectivity, with the ability to follow written instructions and schematic layouts
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions for performing part and assembly integration for completion of full functioning systems
  • Familiarity with Military Communication Platforms, including communication vehicles, shelters, radio stations, or data platforms
  • Technical ability for platform assembly, testing, training, fielding, and systems upgrades as required through modification instructions or manuals
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to Air Force locations CONUS and OCONUS
  • Detailed orientation and ability to read and comprehend written work cards, drawings, and verbal instructions

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Military Occupation Specialties of interest, but not required: Marine Corps 5939, 5974, 5979; Navy Communication Electronics Technician (ET), Information Technician (IT) for maintenance; Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) maintainer/operator
