Role Summary

The Executive Director for the assisted living community operates under the guidance of the regional director of operations. This role encompasses the oversight of administration, operations, and comprehensive management of the community. The Executive Director is tasked with providing leadership and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality services while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents. Additionally, this position is pivotal in cultivating positive relationships with residents, their families, staff, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement

  • Actively participates in all staff meetings, providing valuable input and leadership.
  • Ensures staff accountability to the organization's mission, vision, values, and safety protocols.
  • Effectively delegates responsibilities while offering clear guidance.
  • Encourages open communication and provides constructive feedback.
  • Fosters an environment of trust and motivation among staff.

Financial Management

  • Organizes resources with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintains accountability for departmental budgets.

  • Provides necessary financial reports as required.
  • Reviews staffing patterns to ensure efficiency.

Clinical Compliance

  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures in line with federal and state regulations.
  • Completes mandated documentation promptly.

Staffing and Development

  • Builds relationships with local community and referral sources to develop a talent pipeline.
  • Ensures adequate staffing to meet residents' needs.
  • Encourages punctuality and efficiency among staff.

Quality Assurance

  • Leads initiatives focused on customer satisfaction and compliance.
  • Motivates staff to engage in survey preparation and assessments.

Specific Duties

  • Manages occupancy and revenue by maximizing total occupancy.
  • Ensures effective expense management within budget parameters.
  • Involves in sales and marketing strategies for the community.
  • Oversees human resources management, including employee training and satisfaction.
  • Coordinates staff scheduling and in-service training.
  • Implements quality systems to meet resident needs and monitor satisfaction.
  • Ensures timely communication regarding resident incidents and changes.
  • Manages regulatory compliance and timely reporting of critical events.
  • Facilitates lease agreements and manages resident applications.
  • Ensures quality in activities, food service, and community maintenance.
  • Participates in social and recreational activities relevant to residents.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field.
  • Two years of management experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in an assisted living or similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent financial management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications.
  • Genuine commitment to serving residents and their families.
  • Flexible availability for various shifts and on-call responsibilities.
