Patient Service Representative

Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments based on physician availability
- Greets visitors and patients, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Answers telephones, responds to messages, and maintains accurate records
- Enters and updates patient registration data and accounts
- Photocopies documents, pre-certifies patients, and processes referrals
- Transcribes letters and memos as required
- Maintains computer backups, processes mail, and responds to insurance company calls
- Stocks and orders supplies, adheres to hospital hand hygiene standards, and promotes a healthy and safe environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
Working Conditions
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials
- Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing
- Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
