Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments based on physician availability
  • Greets visitors and patients, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  • Answers telephones, responds to messages, and maintains accurate records
  • Enters and updates patient registration data and accounts
  • Photocopies documents, pre-certifies patients, and processes referrals
  • Transcribes letters and memos as required
  • Maintains computer backups, processes mail, and responds to insurance company calls
  • Stocks and orders supplies, adheres to hospital hand hygiene standards, and promotes a healthy and safe environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

Working Conditions

  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials
  • Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing
  • Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
