Compensation Details:

  • Annual salary range of $90k - $120K, depending on experience and location
  • Annual performance reviews with potential salary increases based on performance and tenure

The Role:

The Warehouse Operations Leader is a key member of the Senior Staff, collaborating with all departments to oversee the supervision of all produce distribution functions, including receiving, maintaining product quality, warehouse shipping, and the repack department, as well as managing profit and loss.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure effective staffing for product reception in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
  • Generating productivity reports related to receiving rates and labor hours, ensuring adherence to labor distribution requirements.
  • Implementing and overseeing warehouse safety programs to maintain a safe and clean workplace in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Managing Warehouse Operations, including Receiving, Operations Support, Quality/Inventory Control, Sanitation, Ripening, and Repack.
  • Assessing labor needs and staffing accordingly.
  • Training personnel and establishing performance goals for team members.
  • Maintaining regular communication with sales, buying, warehouse, and transportation teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing KPIs to achieve operational performance objectives.
  • Implementing necessary policies and procedures to effectively control warehouse operations.
  • Conducting inspections of plant, equipment, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Reviewing maintenance needs and authorizing repairs and services as required.
  • Developing and reviewing division reports, including profit and loss statements, to assess efficiency levels.
  • Initiating capital expenditure requests.
  • Supervising warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Managing loss prevention related to plant property and personnel.
  • Conducting staff meetings to monitor all aspects of warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Maintaining Food Safety Fundamentals and the Food Safety Plan.
  • Overseeing the review and maintenance of the SQF Plan.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse operations environment
  • A minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role
  • Self-starter with strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing requirements while maintaining effective communication
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices (Cal-OSHA, OSHA)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage change and implement new food safety programs
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
