Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high volume of vendor invoices, assisting with general ledger duties, and executing the monthly close process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter invoices into our accounting system with accurate coding based on expenditure type and project requirements.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
- Organize and maintain vendor files in a secure and accessible manner.
- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may apply.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize workload while meeting tight deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are highly beneficial.
Education and Experience:
This is an entry-level role, and we are looking for a candidate with a willingness to learn and the ability to handle large volumes of requests.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or accounting is preferred.
