Currently, we are seeking qualified CDL operators.

Key Responsibilities of a Transit Operator:

  • Safely operate various transit buses or vehicles, adhering to a daily schedule
  • Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections as mandated
  • Stop at designated locations to load and unload passengers
  • Assist passengers with mobility aids and ensure proper securing of wheelchairs and scooters
  • Notify dispatch of any deviations, overloads, accidents, or mechanical issues
  • Ensure fares are collected and provide information to passengers
  • Communicate rules and regulations to passengers when necessary
  • Complete and submit reports regarding passengers and incidents
  • Operate on-board fare collection systems and destination displays.

Requirements for Transit Operators:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (minimum requirement), with a valid CDL preferred, including passenger and air brake endorsements
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
  • No more than two moving violations in the past 3 years on driving record
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Able to work assigned shifts and hours
