At Transdev, safety is paramount. All operators will receive the essential protective gear required for their role.

We are currently seeking qualified CDL operators.

Key Responsibilities of a Transit Operator:

  • Safely operate various transit buses or vehicles within a designated service area according to a daily schedule
  • Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required
  • Stop at designated locations to pick up and drop off passengers
  • Assist passengers with mobility aids and ensure proper securement of wheelchairs and scooters
  • Report any deviations, overloads, accidents, passenger incidents, or vehicle issues to dispatch
  • Ensure fare collection and provide information to passengers
  • Inform passengers of rules and regulations when necessary
  • Complete and submit reports regarding passengers and incidents
  • Operate on-board computer systems for fare collection and destination displays.

Requirements for Transit Operators:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (minimum), with a valid CDL preferred, including passenger and air brake endorsements
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
  • No more than two moving violations in the past 3 years on driving record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work assigned shifts and hours
