As a Senior Educator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young learners. This position involves leading a dedicated team of educators to ensure that our classroom operates smoothly and effectively, aligning with our core values and educational objectives. Senior Educators are tasked with creating a supportive atmosphere where children, families, and staff collaborate to achieve developmental milestones.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an educational setting.
  • Career Pathway Level (CPL 3) or above is required.
  • Knowledge of ODJFS licensing regulations is advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Maintain vigilant supervision of children to promote safe and appropriate play, ensuring all areas are clean and equipment is safe.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Child Care Licensing Rules and the policies of Columbus Early Learning Centers.
  • Maintain required child-to-staff ratios at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of child attendance and meal counts on a daily basis.
  • Design and uphold a safe, clean, and organized educational environment.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, providing First Aid or CPR as necessary, and assess the need for further emergency services.
  • Protect children from any form of physical or verbal abuse and report any incidents to the Center Director immediately.
  • Monitor children for signs of illness, injury, emotional challenges, learning difficulties, or other special needs, and communicate findings to the Center Director for appropriate action.
  • Be vigilant for any indications of child abuse or neglect and report such concerns to the Center Director and/or relevant child welfare authorities.
  • Safeguard classroom materials and equipment, ensuring accountability for any damaged or missing items.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and general upkeep of the classroom environment.
