New Story School is seeking a dedicated Educator to oversee various responsibilities within their designated classrooms. This role involves ensuring effective service delivery, maintaining accurate reporting, and supervising classroom assistants and aides. As a vital member of the Senior Staff, the Educator will exemplify high standards of service and conduct, providing essential leadership within the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives for each student, participating in meetings as necessary.
  • Accurately document and track individual student progress.
  • Create and modify lesson plans to enhance the existing curriculum.
  • Apply designated teaching methodologies as required.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student assignments.
  • Ensure constant supervision of students.
  • Execute behavior management plans and utilize approved strategies.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
  • Conduct assessments for students as needed.
  • Maintain communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Directly oversee and mentor classroom assistants and aides.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for classroom staff.
  • Train classroom assistants and aides in curriculum delivery and behavioral techniques.
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks.
  • Keep the classroom and office space organized and tidy.
  • Adhere to the professional dress code as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to implement non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection of potentially aggressive students.
  • Quick reaction and mobility to manage students in potentially dangerous situations.
  • Capability to assist in the evacuation of students during emergencies.
  • Maintain full certification in assigned crisis management programs.
