Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with unique needs?

New Story School is seeking a dedicated Educator to oversee all aspects of classroom management, including service delivery, reporting, and supervision of classroom aides. As a vital member of our Senior Staff, the Educator will uphold high standards of service and conduct, setting an example for all staff members in professional practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives for each student, participating in meetings as time permits.
  • Accurately document and analyze individual student data.
  • Adapt and enhance lesson plans to align with the curriculum.
  • Utilize specified teaching methodologies as required.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student assignments.
  • Maintain constant supervision of students.
  • Execute behavior management plans and apply approved behavioral strategies.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct assessments of students as necessary.
  • Foster communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Directly supervise classroom aides and assistants.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for classroom aides and assistants.
  • Train and oversee classroom aides in curriculum and behavioral strategies.
  • Perform assigned administrative tasks.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized classroom environment.
  • Adhere to professional dress standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable duties as assigned.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to implement non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection of potentially aggressive students.
  • Capacity to respond swiftly and move effectively to redirect students in crisis situations.
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of students during emergencies.
  • Maintain full certification in assigned crisis management programs.
