Compensation:
Hourly wage ranges from $38.00 to $67.00.

The selected candidate will be required to become a member of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET) Local 51.

Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled professional with 3-5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering. As a Radio Broadcast Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include the inspection, repair, and maintenance of all radio station broadcasting equipment, encompassing transmitters, studio apparatus, satellite downlinks, and automation systems.

Your IT and networking expertise will be essential in providing basic IT support and troubleshooting equipment issues. Additionally, your knowledge of digital audio delivery and streaming technologies will ensure our operations remain cutting-edge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain broadcast radio equipment.
  • Address equipment outages and resolve technical issues.
  • Perform routine diagnostic testing and document maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot broadcast equipment issues at the board level.
  • Provide IT support to users with varying levels of experience.
  • Stay informed about FCC Rules and Regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining station transmitter and EAS Logs.
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with FM and HD transmitters.
  • Proficiency in IT and networking.
  • Familiarity with digital audio delivery and streaming technologies.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Excel, Word, and Google Docs.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and interpersonal abilities; the capacity to communicate effectively with both operators and engineers is crucial.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to provide on-call support 24/7 in the event of equipment failure.
  • Capability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcasting equipment, including transmitters, antennas, satellite downlinks, automation systems, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone systems, audio routing systems, consoles, etc.
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with production and newsroom asset management systems (Dalet Galaxy experience is a plus).
  • Experience with automated master control systems.
  • Knowledge of digital routing systems and consoles.
  • Proficiency in remote PC access tools.
  • Experience with industry-standard DAWs.
  • Knowledge of digital audio standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio.
