Television Broadcast Technician

At Nexstar Broadcasting, the primary role of the Television Broadcast Technician is to ensure the seamless operation of the technical framework that supports our television station, while also facilitating a dynamic news environment.
We seek candidates who possess a strong enthusiasm and experience in several of the following areas:
- Advanced broadcast technology, particularly in broadcast control rooms, studio management, graphical systems, and news acquisition tools and software.
- Proficient experience with computers, laptops, servers, and networking devices is essential.
- Understanding of RF technology, including satellite and microwave transmission systems.
- Familiarity with cellular newsgathering tools.
- Experience with IP-based media workflows is highly valued.
- Basic knowledge of FCC Broadcast regulations is advantageous.
- Experience with high-powered solid-state broadcast transmitters is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who pays close attention to detail and works well within a team.
Additional key responsibilities, attributes, and characteristics include:
- Foster positive and proactive communication regarding all technology-related matters across various departments (News, Sales, Production & Promotions).
- Assist in capital projects, including design, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Demonstrate flexibility while remaining focused on task completion and project execution.
- Availability to occasionally work weekends, extended hours, or varied shifts as needed to address production and broadcast emergencies or deadlines.
- Proficiency in CAD drawing software (Visio), video editing (Adobe Premiere), and MS Office Suite is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcast television maintenance is preferred.
- A college degree and/or SBE Certification are highly regarded.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Compensation - $33.00/hr based on experience and skill level.
