Overview

The Ladders is seeking a skilled Broadcast Systems Engineer to enhance our technical team.

The expected salary range for this position is $83,000.00/Yr-$93,000.00/Yr, determined by the applicant's qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

Key Duties:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with FM, HD, and AM transmitters.
  • Familiarity with AM Directional Antenna systems.
  • Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcast radio station equipment, including transmitters, antennas, satellite downlinks, automation systems, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, and telephone systems.
  • Knowledge of FCC regulations and compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven time management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • IT and networking knowledge is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Experience with computer-based audio storage systems (WideOrbit/VoxPro preferred).
  • Experience with digital audio and streaming technologies.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of technical facilities, including studios, transmitters, telephone systems, satellites, STL, computers, and data networks.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer and IT systems knowledge, including networking and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Availability for a Sunday through Thursday work schedule.
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds.
Preferred:
  • SBE Certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with modern digital audio systems such as Telos, Axia, Pathfinder, Wide Orbit, Vox Pro, and Livewire is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work various hours/days, including weekends and holidays.
  • At least four years of college or technical school education or equivalent experience.
  • On-call availability for equipment failures.
  • FCC General Class License or SBE Certifications are a plus.
