Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Construction Manager to enhance infrastructure within our organization. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, hold a PE registration, and have a minimum of ten years of experience in construction project management. Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after a specified period of employment.Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee construction personnel in multiple offices.
  • Manage daily construction operations, including scheduling, field support, client interaction, and field engineering.
  • Supervise inspection staff and ensure timely delivery of inspection reports per client requirements.
  • Conduct daily reviews of construction progress and perform site inspections to ensure adherence to approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits.
  • Oversee record-keeping and correspondence, ensuring the compilation and drafting of necessary reports and deliverables.
  • Manage contractor payment processes and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure overall site safety and compliance with permit conditions while coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and clients to lead discussions on progress, project safety, and scheduling during construction.
  • Monitor contractor performance and responsiveness.
  • Generate project correspondence, including timely responses to contractor inquiries, to protect the owner's interests.
  • Act as a liaison to design staff for contractor requests for information and review of shop drawings.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, design engineers, and third-party stakeholders to address priority issues and ensure successful project completion.
  • Work with local and national teams of technical experts, including Quality Managers, Project Controls Professionals, Safety Professionals, Technical Leads, and Inspection staff.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced staff.
  • Review design and bidding documents for thoroughness and feasibility.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including schedule analyses and change order processing.
  • Lead the development of construction management proposals, guiding the team on vision, approach, staffing, and pricing.
  • Design civil projects, including water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, and utility improvements.
  • Complete applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications.
  • Prepare and review engineering estimates and design cost estimates.
  • Conduct research and development for projects.
  • Monitor budgets and project progress.
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate details with design engineers.
  • Conduct project cost reviews and promote sales.
  • Prepare and review project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Assist with proposals, marketing, project reports, and technical presentations.
  • Conduct on-site inspections as necessary.
  • Participate in client and project meetings.
  • Attend various professional meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain excellent client relations and a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
Experience and Skills:
  • 10+ years of relevant design experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration is mandatory.
