Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager to enhance our Community Design Team focused on infrastructure improvements. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, hold a PE license, and have a minimum of ten years of experience in construction project management. Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and capable of collaborating effectively with team members. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule will be available after an initial employment period.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction personnel in multiple office locations.
- Manage daily construction operations, including scheduling, field support, client interactions, and engineering oversight.
- Supervise inspection staff and ensure timely delivery of inspection reports per client specifications.
- Conduct daily reviews of construction progress and perform site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits.
- Oversee record-keeping and correspondence by construction management staff, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
- Administer the contractor payment process and recommend necessary adjustments to maintain project integrity.
- Ensure site safety, compliance with permit conditions, and effective coordination with stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication among staff, contractors, and clients to lead project progress, safety, and scheduling during construction phases.
- Evaluate contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall effectiveness.
- Generate project correspondence, including timely responses to contractor inquiries, to mitigate delays and protect the owner's interests.
- Act as a liaison with design teams to address contractor requests for information and review shop drawings.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, design engineers, and third-party stakeholders to resolve priority issues and advance construction projects to completion.
- Work with local and national teams of technical experts, including Quality Managers, Project Controls Professionals, Safety Professionals, and Inspection staff.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
- Review design and bidding documents for thoroughness, constructability, and bidding feasibility.
- Conduct construction administration tasks, including schedule analyses, change order development, negotiation, and processing.
- Lead the development of construction management proposals, guiding the pursuit team on vision, strategy, staffing, and pricing.
- Design civil projects, including water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, and miscellaneous infrastructure improvements.
- Prepare applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications.
- Generate and review engineering estimates and design cost assessments.
- Conduct research and development for project initiatives.
- Monitor project budgets and progress.
- Prepare project status updates and reports.
- Communicate project specifics with design engineers.
- Conduct project cost evaluations.
- Support sales initiatives.
- Prepare and review project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Assist with proposals, marketing efforts, project reports, and technical presentations.
- Perform on-site inspections as required.
- Participate in client and project meetings.
- Engage in various meetings, including pre-design, plan reviews, and professional organization gatherings.
- Attend seminars and training sessions.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of design experience is required.
- Professional Engineer registration is mandatory.
