Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager to enhance our Community Design Team focused on advancing infrastructure projects. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, hold a PE registration, and have a minimum of ten years of experience in construction project management. Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills are crucial. Candidates must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after an initial employment period.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee construction personnel in multiple offices.
  • Manage daily construction operations, including scheduling, field support, client interaction, and field engineering.
  • Supervise construction inspection staff and ensure timely delivery of inspection reports per client specifications.
  • Conduct daily reviews of construction progress and perform site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits.
  • Oversee record-keeping and correspondence by construction management staff, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Manage contractor payment processes and recommend necessary adjustments to optimize contractor performance.
  • Ensure site safety, compliance with permit conditions, and effective coordination with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication among staff, contractors, and clients to effectively manage project progress, safety, and scheduling during construction.
  • Monitor contractor performance, adherence to schedules, and overall responsiveness.
  • Generate project correspondence, including timely responses to contractor inquiries, to protect the owner's interests.
  • Act as a liaison to design teams to address contractor RFIs and review shop drawings.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, design engineers, and third-party stakeholders to resolve priority issues and ensure successful project completion.
  • Work with local and national project delivery teams, including Quality Managers, Project Controls Professionals, Safety Professionals, Technical Leads, and Inspection staff.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced staff members.
  • Review design and bidding documents for thoroughness, constructability, and biddability.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including schedule analyses, change order development, negotiation, and processing.
  • Lead the development of construction management proposals, guiding teams on vision, approach, staffing, and pricing.
  • Design civil projects encompassing water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, and miscellaneous infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications.
  • Prepare and evaluate engineering estimates and design cost estimates.
  • Conduct research and development for various projects.
  • Monitor task budgets and project progress.
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate details with design engineers.
  • Conduct project cost reviews and promote sales initiatives.
  • Prepare and review project task scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Assist with proposals, marketing efforts, project reports, and technical presentations.
  • Conduct on-site inspections as necessary.
  • Participate in client and project meetings, as well as various pre-design and plan review meetings.
  • Attend seminars and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of design experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration is mandatory.
