Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs within the production of alcohol-based sanitizers. This position is responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards through rigorous validation and testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection and analysis of data to initiate and finalize process enhancement projects.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to justify and implement necessary improvements.
  • Oversee the evaluation and procurement of new and existing equipment, ensuring seamless integration with operational workflows and budget constraints.
  • Draft and manage validation protocols, procedures, and comprehensive reports for new equipment and processes to meet both customer and internal specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure that operators receive adequate training on processes for both new and existing components.
  • Assess material and information flow, identifying opportunities for improvement, including the creation of parts and the input of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Engage with system users to pinpoint current challenges and coordinate improvement initiatives.
  • Standardize raw materials, equipment, and documentation to minimize variation within manufacturing processes.
  • Work to reduce inventory losses of finished goods and purchased components while maintaining or enhancing inventory accuracy.
  • Evaluate and implement necessary changes to manufacturing process documentation.
  • Design, construct, and modify basic fixtures or equipment, including automated systems and error-proofing devices, to support best practices and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Stay informed about existing and emerging automation technologies, ensuring component and process upgrades are effectively implemented.
  • Provide training to technical staff on maintaining manufacturing-related equipment, including automated systems and programmable controllers.
  • Develop visual management systems to enhance operational oversight.
  • Participate in and lead proactive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing cross-functional teams.
  • Support and engage in corrective action processes.
  • Effectively apply the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology in all job aspects.
  • Conduct plant layout analyses in collaboration with manufacturing to optimize workplace configurations, staffing needs, material flow, and processes, while making recommendations for new and existing model programs.
