Process Improvement Engineer

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing costs within the production of alcohol-based sanitizers. This position is responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards through rigorous validation and testing protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the collection and analysis of data to initiate and finalize improvement initiatives.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify and implement enhancements.
- Oversee the evaluation and procurement of new and existing equipment, ensuring seamless integration with human factors and budgetary constraints.
- Draft and manage validation protocols, procedures, and comprehensive reports for new equipment and processes to align with customer and internal standards.
- Collaborate closely with operations to ensure that personnel are adequately trained on production processes for both new and existing components.
- Assess material and information flows to pinpoint areas for enhancement, including the creation of parts and the input of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Engage with system users to identify current challenges and coordinate improvement efforts.
- Standardize raw materials, equipment, and documentation to minimize process variation.
- Implement strategies to reduce inventory loss of finished goods and maintain or enhance inventory accuracy.
- Review and apply necessary changes to manufacturing process documentation.
- Design and modify basic fixtures or equipment, including automated systems and poke yokes, to support best practices and continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay informed about both existing and emerging automation technologies, including component and process upgrades.
- Provide training to technical staff on maintaining manufacturing-related equipment, including automated systems and robotic applications.
- Develop visual management systems to enhance operational oversight.
- Participate in and lead proactive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing cross-functional teams.
- Engage in corrective action processes as needed.
- Effectively apply the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology in all job functions.
- Conduct plant layout analyses in collaboration with manufacturing to optimize workplace configurations, staffing needs, material flows, and processes, while making recommendations for new and existing model programs.
