The Environmental Management team is dedicated to ensuring complete environmental compliance and establishing a leadership role in environmental stewardship. Position Summary

The Senior Environmental Scientist - Air Quality Subject Matter Expert will play a crucial role in supporting the Environmental Management Facility Compliance Team at PG&E. This hybrid role primarily involves remote work, with occasional travel to various facilities within the service area, which includes the Northern Service Territory.

This senior-level position demands expertise in project and program management, providing technical assistance on a variety of air quality compliance issues. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing clear guidance, programs, and procedures while collaborating with Environmental Management personnel and functional area partners to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

The Senior Environmental Scientist will work closely with Environmental Field Specialists and other teams to support compliance for both facility operations and construction projects, aligning with PG&E's strategic goals and values. The primary focus will be on resolving challenges, optimizing workflows, and minimizing air quality risks. This role will also entail the development and execution of air quality compliance strategies across the PG&E service territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety by applying training and resources effectively.
  • Provide air quality compliance support for Gas & Electric Transmission facilities, including:
    • Assisting with Title V compliance programs, including report preparation and coordination of inspections.
    • Supporting compliance efforts at non-Title V facilities and implementing CARB Oil & Gas compliance programs.
  • Facilitate process improvements related to new CARB emission requirements and provide training to internal teams.
  • Review and manage compliance data systems to ensure accurate reporting and corrective actions.
  • Support project teams to maintain air compliance during construction and operational phases.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline, sciences, or engineering.
  • Eight years of relevant experience in environmental air quality, demonstrating technical expertise and strong communication skills.
  • Valid California driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in a related field or MBA.
  • Project management training or certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental air quality regulations.
  • Proficiency in data management systems and project management principles.
