Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the workflow of assigned personnel engaged in the review of construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with city building regulations and provide administrative support to senior inspectors.
  • Conduct thorough examinations of building plans, ensuring they meet all relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to address any discrepancies in submitted plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on field inspections and plan reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and ensure timely completion of all necessary evaluations.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by relevant coursework in building inspection technology or a related field. Experience in a similar role is essential, with a minimum of two years as a Plans Examiner I or equivalent experience in architectural design and inspection.

Licenses and Certifications: Candidates must have or be able to obtain relevant certifications as required by the city, including ICC certification as a Plans Examiner.

Working Conditions: The role may require attendance at meetings outside of regular hours and involves both office and fieldwork, including exposure to various environmental conditions.
