Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

At Advantage Behavioral Health, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients in various levels of treatment for mental health. This includes monitoring the safety, security, sobriety, and transportation of clients, as well as assisting with the implementation of treatment plans and providing crisis intervention and de-escalation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and direct the daily schedule of clients, including performing tasks and staying on schedule to attend all treatment and activities.
  • Transport clients to treatment facilities and back to residence in Victory Bay transport vehicles, complying with driving guidelines and approved routes.
  • Work alongside clinical staff to aid in the implementation of treatment plan goals and assist in the implementation of specific behavioral interventions.
  • Foster a compassionate yet accountable environment that meets the needs of clients, including monitoring clients and recording observations in shift notes.
  • Anticipate and respond to client needs, including crisis intervention and de-escalation, and monitor the condition and behavior of all clients for intoxication/drug use.
  • Administer Urine Analysis and breathalyzer on scheduled days of the week and promptly relieve previous shifts and confer with them regarding all issues and concerns.
  • Conduct searches of clients at intake and assist in completing intake paperwork, maintain and control company keys, and monitor clients and direct into group sessions or appointments when needed.
  • Make concerted efforts to build relationships with each client, model healthy communication as part of mental health treatment, and manage and defuse conflict between clients impartially and respectfully.
  • Adhere to scheduled client transports and arrive to the facility in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • BHT Certificate, Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health area preferred; will accept high school diploma or equivalent with specialized mental health training or experience.
  • 2-4 years' experience working in a Mental Health Treatment Facility.
  • Proper English and grammar, usage and spelling, software application related to the field, general offices principles and practices, basic computer knowledge including email etiquette, professional phone and customer service demeanor.
  • Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs, occasional to frequent walking, sitting, standing, driving, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing).
  • Communicable diseases, hot/cold temperatures, environmental conditions may vary.
  • Current CPR Certification, Narcan training.
