Position Overview:

DuPont's Facilities Services and Real Estate division is seeking a Facility Engineer to provide expert leadership and technical guidance at our key operational sites. The selected candidate will oversee the technical stewardship of building systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively ensure a safe and comfortable environment for internal stakeholders by maintaining optimal indoor air quality and energy-efficient systems.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the facilities, including a five-year capital improvement roadmap.
  • Support customers in ensuring that building infrastructure meets the needs of new research initiatives and lead the commissioning of new systems.
  • Analyze and validate data, blueprints, and reports related to building operations and maintenance.
  • Evaluate facility systems to enhance operational efficiencies and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and environmental health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and master drawings for all building systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in Facilities Engineering.
  • Ability to understand project objectives, work independently, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ASHRAE, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and SMACNA.
  • Expertise in HVAC, piping, and building automation systems, along with knowledge of other relevant disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in using computer tools for effective collaboration.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various building systems in research and office environments.
  • Understanding of occupational health and industrial hygiene related to HVAC systems.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a facilities engineer.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and building codes.
