Remote Work Opportunity: This position is available for engineers who prefer to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site engineering support for the installation of industrial ammonia and central refrigeration systems, as well as commercial split systems.
  • Design HVAC systems tailored for both commercial and industrial applications.
  • Review and approve vendor submittal drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate engineering drawings to verify adherence to established standards and project requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of 2D and 3D CAD/BIM drawings and documentation from various sources, including sketches and existing designs.
  • Contribute to bid and proposal development in collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Conduct layout planning for equipment placement, pipe and ductwork routing, ensuring optimal installation efficiency and serviceability.
  • Generate accurate 'As-Built' drawings based on field mark-ups post-construction.
  • Perform essential system calculations, including load calculations and ammonia relief vent systems.
  • Conduct heat transfer and thermodynamic analyses for the sizing and selection of refrigeration equipment.
  • Develop P&ID diagrams, flow charts, equipment schedules, and specifications for refrigeration systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in HVAC design, particularly with industrial refrigeration systems, is preferred.
  • Experience with ammonia systems is highly desirable.
  • Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification in one or more New England states is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other drafting/design software.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings and P&IDs effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, engineering standards, and relevant codes.
