Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients with intricate health conditions in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Manage clinical duties to ensure an equitable distribution of tasks among team members.
  • Contribute to the training and professional development of clinical dietetics staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutritional care into patient treatment plans.
  • Utilize the Nutrition Care Process for accurate documentation in medical records.
  • Act as a resource for Level I and II dietitians regarding MNT.
  • Engage in departmental and hospital-wide committees to enhance food and nutrition services.
  • Participate in research initiatives and data collection relevant to clinical assignments.
  • Maintain necessary credentials and competencies for the role.
  • Employ effective time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Assist in the development of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for dietetic staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Facilitate learning experiences for dietetic interns and support their professional growth.
  • Revise and enhance clinical policies and protocols as needed.
  • Implement nutrition care plans and monitor patient progress according to their medical conditions.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families based on identified needs.
  • Collaborate with food service staff to ensure adherence to dietary preferences and requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Conduct physical assessments and identify nutrition-related diagnoses.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and active participation in professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Specialty certification in a nutrition-related area or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Three years of clinical dietitian experience.
  • Licensed as a dietitian in the State of Georgia.
  • Proficient in adult and geriatric nutrition.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with diet management software.
