JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Exercise Specialist is responsible for delivering patient care services. This role includes supporting the daily clinical operations of Cardiac Rehabilitation across various phases. Additionally, the specialist assists with cardiac diagnostic procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.

Experience:
N/A

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Certification as an Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine is required within one year of employment. ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire and maintained thereafter.

BLS Certification as either a BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network is also required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology.

Experience:
One year of recent experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a hospital or clinic setting focused on cardiology or cardiac rehabilitation.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certification as an Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated understanding of exercise principles, proficiency in using exercise equipment, and ability to develop exercise prescriptions. Strong communication skills are essential.

READING: Intermediate - Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

WRITING: Intermediate - Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.

SPEAKING: Intermediate - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Intermediate - Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret data.

REASONING ABILITY: Advanced - Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

AGE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Skilled in assessment and knowledgeable about growth and development, providing appropriate care for patients of varying ages.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifty pounds. Capable of stooping, bending, and crawling. Requires close vision and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Frequently exposed to moderate noise levels typical of a business office setting.
