About the Role

The **Strategic Operations Manager** is a key position for the operation of the Brighton Site. The purpose of this position is to effectively lead the Planning and Logistics organizations through the creation / implementation of strategic and tactical plans aligned with business and site strategies. This manager position will drive continuous improvement in throughout the Logistics and Planning organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and manage Brighton site planning and scheduling, warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory demand and material supply while being customer focused.
  • Ability to work in high visibility and high demand role
  • Serve as management representative for internal and external quality audits.
  • Implement and continuously improve site processes and systems for sustained compliance with ISO 9001 and Corporate Quality policies.
  • Continuous improvement of planning efficiencies to the support operations and business units.
  • Translate service strategies and metrics into actionable measures based on corporate and business unit strategies and service requirements.
  • Interact with multiple levels of site, business and functional leadership in the support of corporation's and business units' customer requirements and objectives.
  • Responsible for identification and implementation of work process changes, knowledge transfer requirements, and methods to enable transitions required to support the organization implementation/transition.
  • Understand Brighton production schedules, liaise with MSP suppliers of raw materials to optimize and strategically manage Brighton raw material planning, lead times, and shipping conditions during transport to meet Brighton production needs.
  • Ensure and maintain timely, efficient and cost-effective solutions are implemented. Adept at working cross-departmentally i.e., Production, Scheduling and others to ensure customer needs are met at all times.
  • Monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of raw materials, packaging, and final products.
  • Manage and control the order cycle and associated information systems i.e., SAP while utilizing MRP.
  • Analyze and interpret data to monitor performance and develop business improvement plan in support of business objectives.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to business changing needs.
  • Manage waste materials for storage and disposal according to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Mange materials with regards to obsolescence, and rework to improve efficiencies and waste reduction and pursue appropriate disposition of returned, damaged, aged and off-spec inventory.
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers as appropriate.
  • Support business development by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance for safety, environmental, transportation, and commercial processes.

Requirements

This person must possess excellent communication skills, which are characterized by sincerity, persuasiveness and clarity of thought.


• Must be an experienced manufacturing leader who is capable of pushing forward the necessary strategies and programs to increase quality, productivity and customer service.


• Incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills reflecting leadership, sensitivity and the demonstrated desire and ability to foster teamwork focusing on positive cooperative communication.


• A comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing is desired.


• A solid understanding of mechanical engineering with conceptual understanding of chemical and/or process engineering is desired.


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA desirable.


• Minimum of 10 years Manufacturing Management experience.


• Experience managing production personnel


• Experience managing daily production plans and allocating necessary resources.


• Strong leader who manages fairly and consistently when applying rules, policies, and procedures.

Compensation Range: $94,000-$115,000 per year
