Position Summary

The Controls & Compliance Manager will spearhead initiatives related to internal controls over financial reporting, compliance with subsidiary regulations, readiness of internal controls, process enhancements, and various compliance undertakings. This role will act as a subject matter expert, providing consultation to control owners throughout our operational processes. Key responsibilities include strengthening and utilizing both internal and external partnerships to fulfill the annual controls agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing control strategies while ensuring robust controls over critical components of the operational ecosystem.
- Leading the design and execution of controls in collaboration with engineering and business teams.
- Conducting thorough analyses of process areas to identify risks and establish controls addressing financial reporting risks.
- Advising on and crafting controls and compliance frameworks.
- Offering continuous support to process and control owners, as well as cross-functional teams, to guarantee effective design and implementation of controls.
- Engaging in annual assessments with process, application, and control owners, along with external auditors.
- Assisting in the evaluation of identified control deficiencies and overseeing remediation efforts.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or a related analytical discipline.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks, particularly COSO, to evaluate control design and operational effectiveness.
- Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Experience in accounting management within a Big Four firm, serving Fortune 500 clients.
- Proficiency in researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Compensation Overview
Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US geographic regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon operates as a total compensation organization, and depending on the position, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive compensation package, alongside a full spectrum of medical, financial, and other benefits.
