Position Overview:
As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization. This position is designed for a proactive individual who can ensure precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory requirements, and efficient closing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise all facets of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, budget preparation, and the establishment of internal control policies.

2. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, facilitating smooth audits.

3. Coordinate the development of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances.

4. Oversee the performance tracking of invested assets in accordance with company policies.

5. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely financial reporting.

6. Manage the annual budgeting and planning process, reviewing financial plans against actual results to identify and address variances.

7. Consolidate all financial data necessary for accurate business performance reporting.

8. Oversee the management of construction in process (CIP) and work in process (WIP) accounts.

9. Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations, completing filings punctually.

10. Develop and manage financial systems and policies, evaluating the organization’s fundraising strategies and capital structure.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly preferred.

2. At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance position, with a background in both external auditing and in-house financial management in a high-growth environment.

3. Proven expertise in managing construction in process (CIP) and work in process (WIP) accounts.

4. Strong understanding of financial auditing, general ledger functions, and the closing process.

5. Experience with state audits and compliance with financial regulations.

6. Proficient in data analysis and forecasting techniques.

7. Skilled in MS Office and financial management software.

8. Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

9. Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

10. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

11. Attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset.
