POSITION SUMMARY

Kelvion Products Inc., a prominent manufacturer in the heat exchanger industry, is in search of a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring seamless material transactions. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting cycle counts and managing material transfers to align physical inventory with the reported figures in the ERP system.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The primary goal is to collaborate with various departments including Warehouse, Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance to identify and resolve material discrepancies effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct inventory counts and execute transactions to maintain the integrity of inventory records, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in inventory quantities and locations to the Senior Cycle Counter and Inventory Control Lead.
  • Efficiently manage inter-plant material transactions to support timely production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO principles in product location and material picking, addressing any inconsistencies promptly.
  • Adhere to established cycle counting and material control procedures.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Assist in planned physical inventories by verifying product labeling and documenting counts as directed.
  • Be available to work non-standard hours as required.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the team in performing tasks safely and efficiently within the warehouse and production environment.
  • Report any incidents or damages to the Inventory Control Lead or Warehouse Manager immediately.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that Kelvion's quality standards are met in every product produced.
  • Comply with all quality requirements outlined in the Quality Management system.
  • Understand and adhere to the 5S and Safety Program guidelines.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including the Global Code of Business Principles and Code of Ethics.
  • Promote a culture of ethical behavior and integrity within the organization.
  • Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Language Skills: Proficient in English for reading and comprehension; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP systems.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with various departments and external partners.
  • Reasoning Skills: Capable of applying general rules to resolve issues and assess inventory accuracy.
  • Inventory Management Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory practices such as ABC analysis and cycle counting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Strong analytical and logistical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to stand, use hands for handling, and lift objects up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
