Key Responsibilities:

The Infection Prevention Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Medical Director to create, implement, and assess annual infection prevention strategies.
  • Engaging with facility leadership, healthcare professionals, and regulatory agencies to enhance infection control practices.
  • Overseeing infection prevention, epidemiology, and safety programs within the facility.
  • Monitoring and reporting on healthcare-associated and community-acquired infections.
  • Leading initiatives to set goals for infection control across various departments.
  • Managing the industrial hygiene program to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Participating in national collaboratives and ensuring compliance with external reporting requirements.
  • Providing education and training on infection prevention to staff, volunteers, and medical personnel.
  • Contributing to interdisciplinary quality improvement efforts.
  • Staying informed about relevant regulations and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, public health, or a related field.
  • Specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control through accredited programs.
  • National certification in Infection Prevention and Control, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
