Role Summary: The Infection Prevention Nurse plays a crucial role in safeguarding our community by implementing effective infection control strategies. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, this position collaborates closely with the Medical Director to establish a robust framework for infection prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to formulate, execute, and assess annual infection prevention objectives and strategies.
  • Engage with facility leadership, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies to promote infection control initiatives.
  • Oversee infection prevention operations, including epidemiology and safety programs.
  • Monitor and analyze healthcare-associated and community-acquired infections.
  • Facilitate goal-setting for infection-related metrics across the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to identify and mitigate workplace health hazards.
  • Participate in national collaborations and report findings to relevant health organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and provide necessary training to staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and ensure adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, or a related healthcare field.
  • Specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control through accredited programs.
  • National certification in Infection Prevention and Control is required within six months of employment.
