POSITION SUMMARY

Kelvion Products Inc., a prominent manufacturer in the heat exchanger industry, is looking for a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist. This role is essential for the effective management of inventory through systematic cycle counting and material transactions. The Inventory Control Specialist will ensure that all materials are accurately verified and align with the inventory records maintained in the ERP system.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The primary aim is to assist various departments, including Warehouse, Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance, in identifying and resolving material discrepancies.

CUSTOMER FOCUS

To uphold Kelvion's commitment to excellence, ensuring that quality, safety, and functionality are paramount in all operational activities, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct cycle counts and execute transactions to maintain the integrity of inventory records, ensuring accuracy between physical counts and ERP data.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in inventory quantities and locations to the Senior Cycle Counter and Inventory Control Lead.
  • Efficiently manage inter-plant material transactions to support timely production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO principles in product location and material picking, reporting any inconsistencies to the Senior Cycle Counter.
  • Adhere to established cycle counting and material control protocols.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Support physical inventory activities by verifying product labeling and locations, and documenting counts as directed.
  • Be available to work non-standard hours as required.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the team in performing tasks safely and efficiently within the warehouse and production settings.
  • Promptly report any incidents of property damage, safety issues, or material losses to the Inventory Control Lead.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that Kelvion's standards of quality are integrated into every product produced.
  • Comply with all quality requirements as outlined in the Quality Management system.
  • Understand and adhere to the principles of the 5S and Safety Program.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including the Global Code of Business Principles and Code of Ethics.
  • Contribute to a culture of high ethical standards and integrity within the organization.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies.

GROWTH EXPECTATIONS

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Language Skills: Proficient in English for reading and understanding guidelines, with Spanish proficiency considered an advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn various ERP functions.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of effective verbal and written communication with various departments and external partners.
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to resolve issues and analyze inventory data accurately.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management practices, including ABC analysis and cycle counting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and logistical thinking skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
