Position Summary:

Synergy Manufacturing LLC is on the lookout for a Production Scheduling Specialist for our operations. We seek individuals who are proactive, self-motivated, and take pride in their work. The successful candidate must be capable of performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

The Production Scheduling Specialist will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems is essential, along with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to meet both customer and company delivery expectations. This role involves significant visibility and regular interaction with Sales, Production, Warehouse teams, and Senior Management.

The Specialist will collaborate closely with operations to develop, adjust, and oversee production schedules to ensure timely completion of production targets. Responsibilities include assessing material, equipment, and labor needs, generating status and performance reports, and addressing production challenges as they arise. Key duties also involve monitoring inventory levels, providing regular production updates to management, and ensuring timely product delivery to customers.

A successful Production Scheduling Specialist will exhibit strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to facilitate smooth production operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate production orders for accuracy before releasing them to the production floor.
  • Execute MRP processes and issue purchase requisitions/orders based on demand.
  • Monitor and adjust purchase orders as necessary.
  • Maintain active production orders and finalize them upon completion, particularly during the training of new operators.
  • Utilize capacity planning tools and review as required.
  • Oversee the master schedule concerning materials and other resources.
  • Manage cycle counting processes and report findings as needed.
  • Track and report on inventory performance and other critical metrics.
  • Update and maintain system documentation.
  • Analyze capacity limitations and recommend adjustments to resources and lead times by comparing actual production against the schedule.
  • Proactively resolve production issues to minimize delays.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Facilitate production schedule meetings, presenting updated master production schedules and making necessary adjustments.
  • Analyze production levels and product demand to determine reorder points and safety stock levels to ensure product availability while minimizing inventory costs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is mandatory.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including data tables, formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of production operations, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in production planning, materials management, manufacturing processes, forecasting, and inventory control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production and inventory control processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with flexible hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Production/Planning Management) or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in production planning/scheduling, supply chain management, or logistics.
  • Preferred certifications include APICS and CPIM.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Production Planner/Scheduler.
  • Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications.


Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
