Position Title: Therapeutic Care Program Supervisor


OVERVIEW:

The South Carolina United Methodist Conference is in search of a dedicated Therapeutic Care Program Supervisor to enhance our team.


ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for overseeing the clinical components of the Therapeutic Foster Care Program, ensuring that all services align with relevant contracts, legal standards, regulations, and internal guidelines.

The Supervisor will facilitate therapeutic interventions that resonate with the mission and values of the organization, promoting a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with client care.
  • Conducting and reviewing all therapeutic foster care Individualized Plans of Care (IPOCs).
  • Establishing medical necessity justifications.
  • Performing initial, comprehensive follow-up, and annual diagnostic assessments to maintain Medicaid eligibility for services.
  • Managing initial authorizations and overseeing reauthorizations for services.
  • Collaborating with leadership to create effective supervision processes and agendas.
  • Maintaining a manageable caseload while providing training to staff on clinical documentation practices.
  • Monitoring the progress, compliance, and safety of foster homes and the children placed within them.
  • Providing direct supervision to foster families in accordance with established care models.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
  • Utilizing child welfare expertise to develop IPOCs and determine necessary services in line with state requirements.
  • Employing assessment tools to assist children in achieving their goals and documenting progress.
  • Independently evaluating the quality and appropriateness of services provided to each child.
  • Being available for on-call duties as needed.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:

A Master's degree in social work or a related license-eligible field is required. Candidates must possess independent licensure and have a minimum of two years of experience working with children with therapeutic needs. Preferred qualifications include LCSW, LPC, LMSW, or LMFT.

A strong understanding of treatment methodologies for children, adolescents, and families is essential, along with the ability to implement evidence-based practices effectively.


SKILLS REQUIRED:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Candidates should be capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting various professional documents, including business publications and government regulations. The ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from abstract and concrete variables is crucial.

Applicants must successfully pass standard background checks, including drug screening and various registry checks.

A belief system and engagement in faith practices that align with the values of the United Methodist Church are also required.
