Position Overview:

The Lead Installation Supervisor will oversee a dedicated team of 4-5 personnel responsible for the installation of conveyor systems in distribution centers and hubs across North America. This position entails significant travel, with the possibility of remote work. Candidates should be prepared to work extended hours, including 10-hour shifts for six days a week, and may need to be away from home for two to three weeks at a time. A successful background check and drug screening are prerequisites. Ideal candidates will possess experience in managing subcontracted labor.

Candidates should bring technical skills and be ready to contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility for all installation activities (mechanical and electrical) related to onsite operations, including scheduling and budgeting at various customer locations throughout North America.
  • Manage subcontractors and oversee the schedule for mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and support tasks.
  • Coordinate with a Project Coordinator to send schedules and hold weekly meetings with subcontractors based on your direction.
  • Monitor the status of rental equipment and manage equipment logistics.
  • Oversee the closeout and tracking of parts requests, whether fulfilled by the shop or logistics.
  • Develop and utilize a comprehensive installation checklist.
  • Identify necessary installation drawings to be prepared for each project.
  • Create and maintain an updated installation schedule, ensuring effective communication with customers.
  • Participate in on-site meetings with customers as needed to address any special circumstances related to work schedules, equipment usage, and other logistical concerns.
  • Review installation details with the team prior to commencing work.
  • Communicate effectively and set clear expectations on a daily basis.
  • Actively manage job-related expenses.
  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budget.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee high standards of work.
  • Monitor productivity and address any safety or performance issues promptly, identifying potential overruns and risks early.
  • Assist with commissioning and training as required.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide management with regular activity reports.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial installation is required.
  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is necessary.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Efficiently layout and install structural components.
  • Review, order, and install building systems according to engineered specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and video conferencing tools.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in planning and estimating installation-related tasks.

  • Prior customer service experience is advantageous.
All candidates must be able to climb ladders and lift weights up to 70 lbs. A history of success in similar roles is essential. The selected candidate will need to provide documentation proving their eligibility to work in the United States upon hire and will be subject to the E-Verify program.
