Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Climate Policy and Advocacy to join our team at FHLB Des Moines. This is a critical role that will play a key part in shaping our organization's climate policy and advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Climate Policy Agenda: Develop and execute a comprehensive climate policy agenda that aligns with FHLB Des Moines' strategic goals and objectives.
  • Advocate for Climate Policy: Advocate for climate policy and regulatory changes at the federal, state, and local levels to promote sustainable and equitable housing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations, to advance climate policy and advocacy efforts.
  • Develop Policy Position Papers: Develop policy position papers, white papers, and other written materials to inform stakeholders and promote FHLB Des Moines' climate policy agenda.
  • Build Coalitions: Build and maintain coalitions with other organizations and stakeholders to advance climate policy and advocacy efforts.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental policy, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in climate policy, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of climate policy and advocacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
