About the Role

The Senior Manager, Government Affairs and Advocacy will play a critical role in leading the development and execution of ACOG's government affairs and advocacy strategies. This position will be responsible for advancing the organization's policy priorities and promoting the interests of obstetricians and gynecologists at the federal and state levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective government affairs and advocacy strategies to advance ACOG's policy priorities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including members of Congress, their staff, and other healthcare organizations
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state policy developments and identify opportunities for ACOG to engage and influence the policy process
  • Develop and implement advocacy campaigns to promote ACOG's policy priorities and educate policymakers about the needs and concerns of obstetricians and gynecologists
  • Collaborate with other ACOG departments to ensure that government affairs and advocacy efforts are aligned with the organization's overall strategic goals
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff members and volunteers involved in government affairs and advocacy efforts
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in government affairs and advocacy and apply this knowledge to inform ACOG's policy priorities and strategies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in government affairs, advocacy, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective government affairs and advocacy strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
