Position Overview
The Georgetown Climate Center (GCC), located at Georgetown University Law Center, aims to promote effective climate, energy, and transportation policies across the United States—policies that mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and assist communities in adapting to climate challenges. For over a decade, the Center has been at the intersection of state and federal climate and energy policy, providing insights from local and state experiences to inform national policies and serving as a resource for the states and local governments we support.
The Climate Policy Associate is an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to our Adaptation team, concentrating on preparing for and addressing the effects of climate change. The role involves conducting legal assessments, facilitating engagement processes at state and local levels, and delivering exceptional research and writing assistance. The incumbent will represent GCC at various events and support the oversight of student research on pertinent subjects. Reporting to the Adaptation Program Director, additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting legal assessments;

Qualifications
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in environmental law and policy, Federal Indian Law, climate change policy, or a related discipline. Strong research and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work Mode Designation
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such reviews may necessitate changes to a position's work mode designation.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is:
$47, $87,558.13
Compensation is influenced by various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's operational needs and external considerations.
