Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the Epic ambulatory application(s)/module(s) under minimal supervision. This position is tailored for individuals who excel in a dynamic, agile setting, requiring the ability to swiftly adapt, manage multiple tasks, and exhibit a strong desire to learn new technologies. The Epic ambulatory application analyst will work collaboratively and provide tier-two support to their team and/or counterparts from other applications to effectively achieve the development and implementation goals for assigned Epic applications. You will manage competing and evolving priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workflow Analysis: Collaborate with requestors and users to comprehend and document existing workflows, focusing on optimizing future workflows in light of anticipated application modifications.
  • Design and Development: Propose system enhancement opportunities and innovative technical solutions for clinic-related scenarios. Utilize analytical skills to identify, suggest, construct, and showcase prototypes of application configuration options for project requestors' review and approval.
  • Maintenance: Conduct ongoing maintenance and configuration updates for Epic applications.
  • Testing: Independently create test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow modifications. Execute testing of clinical information system configurations and processes, including cross-application testing and configuration testing of other analysts. Facilitate and engage in user testing of application changes.
  • Support: Deliver tier-two support to end-users both remotely and in-person. Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming support tickets. Act as a liaison between users and vendors, coordinating system fixes and changes with software vendors, and managing the deployment of application changes alongside the training team and operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organizational management capabilities.
  • Project management expertise.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with clinical or business systems, with exposure to software development/build lifecycles.

Licensure and Certification:
  • As determined by the department director, Epic certification for assigned modules is required within a specified timeframe of hire. Epic certification must be maintained according to Epic Corporation standards.
