Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the ambulatory application(s)/module(s) of Epic with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates will excel in a dynamic, agile setting, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple tasks, and possess a strong desire to learn new technologies. The Epic ambulatory application analyst will work collaboratively and provide tier-two support to their team and counterparts from other applications to achieve development and implementation goals for assigned Epic applications. This position requires effective management of competing priorities and the ability to lead key initiatives while performing project management tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workflow Analysis: Collaborate with requestors and users to document existing workflows and propose optimized future workflows in response to clinical project requests.
  • Design and Development: Recommend system enhancements and innovative technical solutions for clinic-related scenarios. Utilize analytical skills to identify, propose, build, and showcase prototypes of application configurations for project requestor review.
  • Maintenance: Conduct ongoing maintenance and configuration updates for Epic applications.
  • Testing: Create test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow modifications with minimal supervision. Execute testing of clinical information system configurations and processes, including cross-application testing and collaboration with other analysts.
  • User Support: Provide tier-two support to end-users, both remotely and in-person. Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming support tickets while acting as a liaison between users and vendors. Coordinate system fixes and changes with software vendors and manage the deployment of application changes with the training team and operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with clinical or business systems, including exposure to software development/build lifecycles.

Licensure and Certification:
  • Epic certification for assigned modules is required within a specified timeframe post-hire, as determined by the department director. Certification must be maintained according to Epic Corporation standards.
