PROJECT OVERVIEW
The DarkStar Group's team tackles distinctive and demanding intelligence challenges for a Special Operations client.

We are a diverse team specializing in software development and systems management, dedicated to creating and sustaining software applications supported by a self-managed cloud infrastructure (OpenStack) with a significant big-data capacity (over 10 petabytes).

Our varied experience in mission support and software engineering acts as a catalyst for addressing unique and complex intelligence challenges in support of special operations analysts and their ongoing missions.

Prototyping and iterative feedback are fundamental to our delivery methodology, driven by the necessity to act swiftly in support of our objectives.


The technical environment is extensive and includes Java, Python, C#, C/C++, Geospatial tools, Big Data and Graph Products (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, ElasticSearch, Neo4j), Linux, OpenStack, AWS, Ansible, SQL/NoSQL, Text Processing, Cloud Services, Containerization, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and more.


Work on this program requires a TS clearance and a readiness to obtain a CI Poly: a current TS/SCI + CI Poly is preferred.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the team’s ISSEs and senior ISSOs to execute the Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) program for a Government IT system consisting of several hundred servers.

Assist under the direction of ISSEs and senior ISSOs to fulfill tasks necessary for achieving and maintaining system Authorities To Operate (ATOs).

Prepare and uphold information systems Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) packages (BoE - ConOps/Customer Test Plan, SSPs SCTM).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

- 3+ years of experience in executing Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) programs for intricate IT systems.

- Proficient in communicating technical analyses in a manner understandable to non-technical stakeholders and senior government officials.

- Expert knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Experience utilizing compliance tools to monitor assessment and authorization, and continuous monitoring activities (e.g., Xacta 360, ServiceNow, Tenable Security Center).

- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and associated standards and guidelines.

- CompTIA Security+ certification.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with Linux (Red Hat).

- Background working within various system networks and classification levels.

- Advanced degree in a technical discipline.

- Experience working on-site at a government customer location.

- Participation in patching/system hardening activities.

- Experience in DOD/IC environments.

- Experience developing and maintaining configuration control documentation.

- Experience implementing services to intelligence community standards like ICD 503, NIST Risk Management Framework, and cloud technologies.

- DoD 8570 certification.
