Flight Line Operations Supervisor

Purpose and Scope:
The Flight Line Operations Supervisor is accountable to the Maintenance Manager for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all assigned personnel. This role oversees the daily flight line operations necessary for the preparation, launch, and recovery of aircraft, while also providing support to the maintenance department as required.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all Flight Line operations, including aircraft preparation for flight, timely and safe launch and recovery, fueling, towing, and the safe use of support equipment, including self-propelled vehicles.
+ Manage Flight Line personnel to guarantee the safe and punctual completion of tasks, ensuring the availability of airworthy aircraft for scheduled missions.
+ Direct activities of assigned work centers to promote discipline, effective use of personnel, and maintain cleanliness of facilities across all shifts.
+ Ensure that personnel are qualified for their assigned tasks and enhance their technical knowledge through appropriate training conducted by supervisors and team leaders.
+ Collaborate with Maintenance Control and Quality Assurance as necessary.
+ Supervise aircraft fueling operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant procedures.
+ Maintain accurate records and reports as required by maintenance procedures, ensuring timely submission.
+ Communicate any Flight Line or Maintenance issues to Maintenance Control and down-line stations.
+ Ensure quality of work and proper documentation, making necessary corrections prior to task completion.
+ Coordinate the provision of required parts and materials for assigned tasks.
+ Work with Maintenance Control to align flight schedules and job assignments.
+ Responsible for the control and security of company property at the job site.
+ Establish work procedures and schedules.
+ Manage work center leaders and employees consistently and fairly, addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with company policies.
+ Develop and adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards, ensuring all personnel receive proper training as per the developed training program.
+ Engage in and support continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Directly supervise up to 90 Flight Line personnel.
Perform all other duties related to the position as assigned or requested.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent; five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience as an Aircraft Mechanic or Flight Line Supervisor; ten (10) years of supervisory experience is mandatory.
+ Prior experience operating aircraft ground servicing equipment is essential.
+ Must meet any government and/or company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
+ Position may require obtaining and maintaining a US Security Clearance.
+ Must be flexible to work any assigned shift or schedule.
+ Valid driver's license is required.
+ Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and regulations.
+ Competence in planning, assigning, and directing work objectives.
+ Proficient in addressing complaints and resolving issues.
+ Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
+ Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
+ Effective communication skills for presenting information to groups.
+ Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions in various formats.
+ Must possess knowledge in Flight Line Operations/Maintenance, including experience with assigned or similar aircraft.
+ In-depth understanding of technical manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance procedures is necessary.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
+ Basic mathematical skills are essential.
+ Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documents in English.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position typically operates in an outdoor environment subject to varying weather conditions, as well as in a standard office setting. Domestic travel may be required as directed.
