Overview:
As a key member of the culinary team, the Culinary Operations Supervisor will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations. This position requires a deep understanding of Water Street's mission, vision, and values, which must be upheld and practiced consistently.


Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving a score of 90% or higher on all health inspections and customer feedback evaluations.
  • Adhering to and enforcing the kitchen's dress code and appearance standards.
  • Implementing and maintaining service standards for kitchen personnel.
  • Assisting in the daily management of kitchen operations.
  • Creating and refining menus and recipes.
  • Setting, executing, and monitoring kitchen goals and layout.
  • Training kitchen staff to operate efficiently within company policies and health regulations.
  • Facilitating regular meetings to ensure effective communication among kitchen staff.
  • Supporting the recruitment of cooks and dishwashers.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling.
  • Overseeing line cooking and supervising line operations.
  • Expediting customer orders.
  • Ensuring quality control of all food products.
  • Coordinating communication and training between kitchen and service staff.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of food costs.
  • Managing assigned responsibilities on the blackboard.
  • Implementing waste reduction strategies.
  • Overseeing overall cost management, including food and labor expenses.
  • Communicating with vendors for order management and check-ins.
  • Conducting regular inspections of kitchen equipment and addressing any deficiencies promptly.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods on a concrete surface.
  • Lift and carry food items weighing between 40 and 75 pounds, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Push, pull, and maneuver various kitchen items weighing between 35 and 150 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive motions and reach overhead as required.
  • Utilize hands and fingers effectively for handling kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain corrected vision and hearing to navigate the kitchen environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management in a fast-paced setting.
  • Stay mentally alert to remember details related to tasks and food orders.
  • Follow safety instructions for kitchen equipment use.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions, including cold storage and hot cooking environments.
  • Adapt to a normal to high noise level in the kitchen.
  • Identify and report hazards promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
