About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Delaware Resource Group of Oklahoma. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for providing simulator support for aviation training students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems, typically solved by properly interpreting maintenance manuals or similar documents.
  • Receive limited technical guidance, as required from supervisor or higher-level technicians and work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments.
  • Capable of interpreting and working with computer systems utilizing various and multiple operating systems.
  • Identify and replace defective parts in electronic circuits and associated hardware.
  • Utilize drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to trace circuits.
  • Maintain required documentation of maintenance activities and corrective actions utilizing the Maintenance Management database system.
  • Diagnose malfunctions of computers, associated equipment, and performs operability/readiness tests and repair.
  • Perform systems interface/fault isolation.
  • Interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and create simplified versions when needed.
  • Conduct voice communications on phone, inter-phone, and radio circuits.
  • Maintain device requirements, system design standards.
  • Implement basic modifications to existing simulators and training devices.
  • Maintain good relations with customers and ensure information flows within technical organization.
Requirements
  • Must be skilled at use and operation of test equipment, including torque wrenches, O scopes, frequency meters, volt/ohm meters, calibration test sets, etc.
  • Must possess advanced skills necessary to diagnose and isolate malfunctions in electronic systems; align, adjust, and calibrate installed training devices; interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic schematics.
  • Must possess advanced skills to perform calibrations, adjustments and tests on electronic equipment, analyze operation, verify discrepancies, isolate malfunctions and replace defective components.
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results to isolate faults.
  • Must be adept in utilization of program listings to isolate faults and in repair of micro/miniature printed circuit boards, electro/mechanical systems, to include projection display systems, electronic motion control and electronic control loading systems and computer sound systems.
  • Must be able to perform routine preventive maintenance actions using maintenance cards, work instructions and instructional manuals to perform daily system readiness checks, pre-operational and post-operational checkouts.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and the customer.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or higher with equivalent education.
  • Completion of an advanced civilian or advanced military electronics program.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience as a Flight Simulator Maintenance Technician or equivalent.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting complex non-routine problems on flight simulation equipment, including digital and analog hardware/software, and motion systems.
  • Experience in conducting advanced training in troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating critical solid-state equipment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular technical field.
  • Must be highly skilled in technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in component level test and repair of microprocessor-controlled equipment and working knowledge of UNIX, RedHat and FORTRAN languages.
Security Clearance

Must have or be able to attain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Language Skills

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents/diagrams. Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Must be able to deliver effective oral and written presentations.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have an ability to interpret customer requirements. Must have ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings. Must be able to calculate mathematical problems and draw and interpret graphs.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under the device.
  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
Work Environment
  • Shop floor environment.
  • Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical, moving mechanical parts, and by hydraulics under high pressure.
Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
