About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team at Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS). As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting our Programmes and sites, providing technical expertise and specialist support in the area of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical knowledge and specialist support in the area of Engineering, supporting External Hazards, Internal Hazards and Blast and Impact Loadings.
  • Support Engineering delivery within the central Engineering Team and must be versatile in their approach of the type of work they will be expected to undertake.
  • Provide technical expert capability to the benefit of the business as a whole.
  • Maintain and develop a comprehensive understanding across broad technical areas including civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.
  • Represent the business as a technical expert.
  • Undertake Intelligent Customer and Design Authority roles in specialist areas.
  • Provide proactive advice, guidance and assurance responsibilities across the Company.
  • Support delivery within their range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.
  • Contribute to the development of engineers' technical skills and competence as a recognised authority.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) within a Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a professional institute is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience within the nuclear industry.
  • Some understanding of nuclear specific hazards, including seismic.
  • Relevant experience and comprehensive understanding of relevant technical area including application in the management of complex systems and arrangements.
  • Experience of delivery within a changing, complex and challenging environment, with a strong, collaborative communication style and ability to engage with and coach others.
  • Performance and career management, including Continuing Professional Development.

What We Offer:

  • Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) staff should refer to the document titled "Spot Point v Grade alignment" available on SharePoint for more information on how the grade structure aligns to Spot Points.
  • Flexible working – where possible.
  • The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service. You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year.
