Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Environmental Compliance Engineer / Scientist to join our dynamic team in Northern California. This full-time role, based in one of our Northern California offices, offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Paid Time Off, Holidays, Full Medical/Dental/Vision coverage, and a 401k program with a generous company match.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex engineering tasks and technical projects focused on Waste, Water, and Safety compliance, as well as aspects of Air Quality regulations.
  • Support a variety of multimedia services, including Hazardous Waste/Materials management, Storm Water and Wastewater compliance, On-Site compliance, and Safety/IH requirements.
  • Analyze regulatory compliance issues and communicate findings effectively within the organization, to clients, and to regulatory bodies.
  • Provide support to project teams and carry out assigned duties with a focus on quality and timeliness.
  • Train and supervise junior staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience as an Environmental professional specializing in Waste, Water, Air, and/or Safety/IH, particularly in a consulting environment.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing teams that handle multimedia and environmental services.
  • Expertise in Hazardous Waste and Materials Compliance, Industrial Storm Water and Wastewater Permitting, and Air Quality Compliance.
  • Strong ability to lead project teams, ensuring quality project completion and maintaining positive relationships with clients, staff, and regulators.
  • Experience conducting safety, environmental, or occupational health inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Proficient in technical data interpretation and analysis.
  • Commitment to advancing expertise in Waste, Water, Air, and Safety environmental fields.
  • Must possess experience with California Regulatory/Compliance standards.

Educational Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields from an accredited institution (minimum GPA of 3.0).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing expertise in environmental regulations within the team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply rules and regulations to practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft 365 Applications is a plus.
  • QISP Certification is advantageous.
