Position Overview:

The role of a Business Continuity Architect is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive business continuity strategies that ensure the resilience and recovery of organizational operations in the face of disruptions or disasters. This position is essential for protecting the company's assets, data, and overall business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Architecture:
- Develop and analyze technical documentation for the Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP).
- Provide a comprehensive technical perspective on the ISCP.
- Serve as a crucial link for both technical and non-technical discussions.

Business Continuity Planning:
- Formulate, execute, and sustain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct business impact analyses (BIAs) to identify essential business functions, dependencies, and risks.
- Create strategies to mitigate risks and ensure operational continuity during and after disruptions.

Risk Assessment and Management:
- Carry out regular risk assessments to uncover vulnerabilities within the organization's infrastructure, processes, and systems.
- Collaborate with various departments to implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

BCP Architecture Design:
- Design and document the overall BCP architecture, encompassing backup, recovery, and failover mechanisms.
- Ensure alignment of BCP architecture with the organization's IT infrastructure and business processes.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams to integrate disaster recovery solutions with existing systems.

Incident Response and Crisis Management:
- Coordinate response efforts during actual incidents, ensuring recovery efforts align with the BCP.
- Act as a primary contact during crises, providing leadership and guidance for swift recovery.
- Review and update the BCP post-incident to incorporate lessons learned.

Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure BCP plans meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding BCP readiness, test results, and incident response outcomes.
- Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to ensure all critical functions are included in the BCP.
- Work with external vendors and partners to incorporate third-party services into continuity plans.
- Provide training and support to staff on BCP processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience:
- Extensive experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or risk management.
- Previous experience in IT architecture or systems engineering is highly desirable.

Certifications:
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar credentials are highly preferred.

Skills and Technical Proficiency:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and network security.
- Experience with disaster recovery tools and software.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and their relation to business continuity.
