Position Overview:

The Business Architect role is integral to the team focused on the development and oversight of Application Portfolio Management (APM), Enterprise Architecture (EA) governance, and Business Architecture (BA) domains. This individual will leverage their business and technical expertise to ensure alignment between the strategic objectives of the organization and its IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the Application Portfolio Management (APM) process to assist stakeholders in optimizing software application utilization, development, and investment.
  • Engage in RFx activities to identify and select optimal technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maximize the value derived from technology and applications.
  • Support EA Governance processes, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Advocate for architectural best practices, standards, and guidelines throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural principles during the development and implementation of enterprise solutions.
  • Assist Solution Architecture colleagues in creating architectural governance documentation.
  • Oversee Business Architecture initiatives, which include:
    • Collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement capability-based planning and assessments.
    • Encouraging collaboration across business and technology sectors to foster cohesive and comprehensive IT strategies.
    • Conducting Technology Research & Analysis.
    • Investigating emerging technology trends that align with business requirements and summarizing research findings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Alternative qualifications may include 6 years of experience in a related field or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic computer skills, familiarity with desktop PC systems, mobile devices, and foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software products.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment in interactions with various stakeholders.
  • Capacity to support leadership and provide mentorship within the team.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges within the technology architecture domain.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to change.
  • Process-Oriented: Highly process-oriented, capable of defining and continuously refining processes while documenting them effectively.
  • Attention to detail in supporting the development and execution of enterprise architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications.
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Security: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Certifications in programming languages and platforms (e.g., Java, Python, .NET).
