Position Overview:

The Business Architect role is pivotal in shaping and overseeing the Application Portfolio Management (APM), Enterprise Architecture (EA) governance, and Business Architecture (BA) sectors. The selected candidate will leverage their business and technical expertise to ensure alignment between the organization's strategic objectives and IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the Application Portfolio Management (APM) process, guiding stakeholders in optimizing software application utilization, development, and investment.
  • Engage in RFx activities to identify and select the most appropriate technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maximize the value derived from technology and application investments.
  • Assist in EA Governance processes, working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and strategic business direction.
  • Advocate for architectural best practices, standards, and guidelines throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural principles during the development and implementation of enterprise solutions.
  • Support Solution Architecture colleagues in creating architectural governance documentation.
  • Oversee Business Architecture initiatives, which include:
    • Collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement capability-based planning and assessments.
    • Encouraging collaboration across business and technology sectors to drive cohesive and comprehensive IT strategies.
    • Assisting with Technology Research & Analysis.
    • Conducting research into emerging technology trends that align with business needs and summarizing findings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Alternative qualifications may include 6 years of experience in a related area or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency, familiarity with desktop PC systems, mobile devices, and foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work independently while effectively engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership Support: Capacity to assist leadership and provide mentorship within the team.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on addressing challenges within the technology architecture domain.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.
  • Process Orientation: Highly process-oriented, capable of defining and continuously refining processes and documenting them effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail in supporting the development and execution of enterprise architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications.
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification.
  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Security: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Certifications in programming languages and platforms (e.g., Java, Python, .NET).
